France faces the XV du Leek for the fourth day of the Six Nations Tournament, in Grenoble, on Sunday.
The staff of the Blue continues its changes. Three changes have been made by the management of Les Bleues in the starting XV which will face Wales, Sunday April 23 in Grenoble (4:15 p.m. on France 2 and on france.tv), for the penultimate day of the Tournament of six nations female. Alexandra Chambon notably takes the place in n°9 of Pauline Bourdon, injured.
“Pauline Bourdon did not recover 100% from her crutch which occurred in Vannes. As her injury did not resolve in time, we preferred to leave her to rest”explained in a press conference the co-trainer Gaëlle Mignot, specifying that the Toulousaine would be “a priori” postponed for the match against England on April 29.
Bourdon (27, 48 caps), indisputable scrum half for the Habs since the World Cup in New Zealand, where she replaced Laure Sansus after her serious injury suffered against England in the first round, is absent after starting during the first three meetings of the French. She leaves her place to Alexandra Chambon (22 years old, 12 selections), her appointed replacement since the start of the Tournament. “Alexandra brings liveliness and rhythm to each of her entries”underlined Mignot.
Romane Ménager back in the starting fifteen
The other modification concerns the third row, where the usual n ° 8 of the Blue, Romane Ménager (26 years old, 55 caps), forfeited through injury during the first two matches of the Tournament before returning against Scotland as a substitute , “resumes” his place, shifting to the wing Charlotte Escudéro (22 years old, 10 selections).
“Romane, who made a very good start in Vannes [face à l’Ecosse] by imposing an aggressive defense, has powerful assets”, for his part explained David Ortiz, the other coach of the Blue. Escudero, one of the revelations of the World Cup this fall, made a brilliant start to the tournament, notably making a total of 44 tackles, the best result on the French side.
Finally, winger Caroline Boujard (29 years old, 49 caps) gives way to her club teammate Cyrielle Banet (28 years old, 24 caps), absent against Scotland (55-0) after starting in Italy ( 22-12) and Ireland (53-3).
