(Montargis) New legal episode concerning the international star of French cinema: Alain Delon, 88 years old and seriously ill, was placed under “reinforced guardianship” on Thursday by a protection litigation judge.
The sacred monster of cinema, who suffers from lymphoma, had been placed under judicial protection since January with the appointment of a legal representative “for his medical monitoring”.
This measure was “converted into reinforced curatorship” following a hearing which was held Thursday afternoon behind closed doors at the Montargis judicial court, according to a source close to the case interviewed by AFP.
Concretely, the “reinforced curatorship” “implies that he no longer has total freedom in the management of his property and the decisions he could make and this makes it possible to manage certain medical aspects which concern him,” added this source. .
“The public prosecutor’s office contacted an authorized doctor for an opinion and who contacted a judge” leading to today’s hearing before the guardianship judge as part of civil proceedings, we learned from a judicial source.
The reinforced curatorship provides in particular that the curator manages the bank account of the protected person and pays their expenses, specifies the service-public.fr website.
Since the beginning of January, the three children of the star have been waging a fratricidal war, through the media and justice, each swearing to want to protect the cinema legend, in declining health since a stroke in 2019.
His sons, Anthony, 59, and Alain-Fabien, 29, believe that the actor is being manipulated by their sister, Anouchka, 33, who would have hidden his state of health from them and would like to bring him back to Switzerland.
According to her brothers, the thirty-year-old would like to repatriate her father to the Swiss country, of which he acquired nationality and where he resided regularly, to avoid paying significant inheritance taxes upon the death of their father.
Latest episode to date: Anouchka Delon sued her two brothers for invasion of privacy after the broadcast of the recording of a conversation between her and her father. The trial is scheduled to take place in April 2025 in Paris.
At the end of February, a search was carried out at the French star’s home by the courts, which seized 72 firearms –– held without authorization – and 3,000 rounds of ammunition, following a report from the guardianship judge.
Since his stroke in 2019, no one comes across the man who is still one of the last giants of French cinema in this Loiret village.
The film Full sun by René Clément (1960) had revealed Alain Delon internationally, as Rocco and his brothers (1960), Cheetah (1963) by the Italian Luchino Visconti or The swimming pool by Jacques Deray (1969).
