Ahuntsic-Cartierville | Pedestrian in critical condition after crash

(Montreal) The driver of a vehicle collided with a pedestrian on Thursday evening in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, in Montreal. The pedestrian, a 71-year-old lady, was transported to a hospital center, where there are fears for her life.

The accident occurred around 6:10 p.m. at the corner of rue Fleury and boulevard Olympia.

According to various witnesses interviewed by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the pedestrian was crossing Olympia Boulevard to the west, when the driver of the car heading east on Fleury Street made a turn towards the left onto Olympia Blvd.

The driver, an 82-year-old woman, was not injured. “She will be met by investigators over the next few hours to learn a little more about the circumstances that led to this collision,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

Rue Fleury has been closed in both directions between Avenue Hamel and Boulevard Christophe-Colomb.

Collision investigators were dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene and meet with witnesses.
