The organizers of the agricultural show absolutely want to maintain the event despite the health situation. Indeed, in 58 years, the show was canceled once last year, in 2021. A scenario they do not want to relive. They think about adapting the event to the constraints to covid.
Jean-Pierre, breeder in Limousin and regular at the show, has been preparing these animals for a few months. However, he remains in doubt as to the holding of the event. “We spend money to prepare it (animal) so a cancellation would be a spade in the water”, he laments. Usually 600,000 visitors flock the aisles to eat and party every year. But in the midst of the 5th wave of covid, will the show really take place? Health measures can still evolve.
“It would be dramatic if we could not do it this year. However, will it be a show like any other? Certainly, no (…). In any case, we will do what is necessary”, assures Arnaud Lemoine, head of CENECA. The stake is also economic for certain participants in the agricultural show, in particular thanks to the contests and the rewards.
