The themes :

Agricultural bill

Rewritten to respond to winter anger, the government’s agricultural bill arrives in the Assembly chamber, received lukewarmly by the opposition who criticize a lack of ambition on land or remuneration, or even a potentially harmful effect for the environment. The bill is built around the notion of “food sovereignty”, with the stated objective of accelerating the arrival of new generations of farmers relieved of certain environmental constraints.

77th Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival opens Tuesday with the #MeToo wave on everyone’s minds, and on the red carpet, a parade of stars including Hollywood legend, Meryl Streep.
The subject of sexual violence is present as rarely, seven years after the fall of American producer Harvey Weinstein, and five months after Judith Godrèche spoke out in France.
The actress, who accused directors Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon of rape in her adolescence, will present on Wednesday a short film “Me Too”, made in tribute to the victims.
A highlight, at a time when 100 personalities, including many actresses (Isabelle Adjani, Emmanuelle Béart, Juliette Binoche…) are calling for a comprehensive law against sexual violence in France.
The opening evening will be marked by the Honorary Palme d’Or awarded to the star of the evening, Meryl Streep, 74 years old.
