after the Sorbonne, students demonstrate in front of Sciences Po Paris to denounce the choice between Macron and Le Pen

The protest movement extends to a new establishment. After the Sorbonne, Wednesday April 13, around 150 students gathered on Thursday in front of Sciences Po Paris, blocking access to the establishment to make their voices heard in the in-between rounds of the presidential election and alert on environmental or social issues.

In front of the building at 27 rue Saint-Guillaume in Paris, banners on the doors indicate “no neighborhood for fachos, no fachos in our neighborhoods”, “no to the far right”, “anti-fascist feminists”. “Enough of this society, which fears veiled women, listens to Zemmour on TV”, “We are here, even if Macron does not want us, we are here” or “The youth fucks the National Front”, shouted with megaphones the students in front of the establishment. Were present activists from Solidaires, Unef, SOS Racisme but also non-unionized students.

“The courses scheduled for today on this site have been switched to distance learning. The other Sciences Po sites remain open and operate normally”said Sciences Po.

Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where several hundred students participated in an interfacs general assembly in an amphitheater the day before for the same reason, is still “partially busy Thursday” at midday, according to the university’s communications department. A rally is planned for the beginning of the afternoon on the Place de la Sorbonne.

“Courses are maintained remotely for all Paris 1 students, as well as for the other Parisian sites (about ten, including Tolbiac), until Saturday April 16 inclusive”added the communication department, which specifies that these sites “are closed to students but open to staff“.
