After the draw against Rodez, QRM takes on Paris FC this weekend

After the draw conceded last weekend in Diochon against Rodez, a direct competitor for the maintenance, the Quevillais will be this Saturday at 7 p.m. on the lawn at the Charléty stadium in Paris, to face Paris FC. Fourth in the last exercise and barrage for the rise in Ligue 1, the PFC is one of the big teams in the championship. Last year QRM lost twice against the capital club (0-1 defeat at home on August 28, 2021 and 3-0 defeat in the return match in Paris, last February).

Bring the team to a new level

Not enough to shake the Normans and their new coach, Olivier Echouafni, who relies on last weekend’s performance to prepare for the meeting. “We know we have to improve things in the gamehe explainsbut we already have a good defensive base, which is essential.”. The former coach of the French women’s team wants to turn the team around. For this he wants to rely on a solid defense to develop the game, and not to return to the 50 goals conceded in 2021/2022 over the regular season.

We will play all the matches to win them!” Olivier Echouafni, QRM coach

“We were a little less ready than Rodez I think. At the start of the season, one more week of preparation makes the difference”, explains Yann Boé-Kane, midfielder of the reds and yellows and holder last weekend. Returning later from vacation following the play-offs against Villefranche-Beaujolais, the Normans continue their preparation. And the start of the week was intense according to the coach: “There are some who manage to manage this end of preparation well, there are some who are a little tough and then there are some who are already very good. We know that it will be balanced with training and also with matches and competition“. QRM is therefore traveling without pressure in the capital with the ambition of grabbing a few points.

Yohann Thuram, the latest recruit, should be in the squad to face Paris. The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived at the start of the week after two years at Amiens, signed up for a season. Olivier Echouafni hopes for two new recruits by the end of the transfer window: a central defender and a strikerto strengthen its workforce.
