On September 5, a 15-year-old teenager, victim of school bullying, ended his life. According to BFM TV, the rectorate had written a controversial letter to his parents who had filed a complaint against the principal last April.
“This mail is a shame”said Gabriel AttalSaturday September 16. In the afternoon, the Minister ofEducation national did not hesitate to castigate the letter from the rectorate of the Academy of Versailles (Yvelines) addressed to the parents of Nicolas, the teenager who committed suicide at the beginning of September. “From Monday, I will bring together all the rectors since I want to launch an audit in all the rectorates”he said.
“Extremely worried parents”
There Prime Minister recognized a letter out of step with the pain of the families. “Obviously it’s shocking (…) obviously there was a failure in the type of response that was sent to extremely worried parents”said Elizabeth Thick headed. On September 5, Nicolas, 15, was found hanging in his room after making reports harassment.
Last April, after several discussions with the establishment, the parents decided to file a complaint to criticize the principal for his inaction. The principal defends himself and the Versailles rectorate sends a letter to the parents. “You questioned the functions and threatened to file a complaint against the management staff of the vocational school.”it was written. The letter goes further and reminds parents that slanderous denunciation is punishable by 5 years of imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros.
