After a police chase | Arrest of three teenagers in Longueuil

Three teenagers aged 14, 15 and 16 were arrested after a police chase in Longueuil on the night of Thursday to Friday. They had been seen loitering around various vehicles in a parking lot.

Around 3:50 a.m. Friday, the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) went to the area of Saint-Laurent Boulevard West and Place Charles-Le Moyne after a vehicle and individuals behaving suspiciously were reported. They appeared to be loitering around other vehicles in a parking lot, according to authorities.

“As our patrol officers approached, the suspect vehicle quickly fled towards the René-Lévesque highway, the 132, where it was pursued by our police officers,” explains François Boucher, public relations officer at SPAL.

The driver’s speed and dangerous maneuvers led the suspect vehicle onto the Roland-Therrien Boulevard viaduct, where police quickly located the immobilized and damaged vehicle.

At the end of this intervention, three young men aged 14, 15, and 16, one of whom had been reported missing, were arrested. The three teenagers, all residents of the Montreal area, were in possession of electronic devices linked to vehicle theft, reports SPAL.

“They now face a criminal charge of fleeing, in addition to numerous traffic violations,” explains officer François Boucher, who adds that the young men have since been released.
