The Perseigne district, in Alençon (Orne), was once again the scene of urban violence during the night of October 26 to 27. The police were targeted by projectile fire and about fifteen vehicles were set on fire in a long night of tension against a background of drug trafficking. This was already the case six months ago. Additional CRS will be deployed.

Fireworks mortar fire broke out in the Perseigne district of Alençon, in the Orne, on the night of October 26 to 27. Several dozen people, with their faces masked, targeted the police and firefighters who came to extinguish the vehicle fires. The violence lasted for several hours. This Wednesday, October 27 in the morning, the inhabitants discovered the carcasses of still smoking vehicles. About fifteen trucks and cars parked at the foot of buildings burned down.

A few hours before, two people had arrested in the neighborhood for drug trafficking. “We are determined to disrupt, harass these points of deal, these points of drug trafficking“, declared the prefect of Orne Françoise Tahéri. But faced with these outbreaks of violence which are repeated in the Orne, the police say they lack the means.”The same phenomena happened in April. In May we had exactly the same thing […] There is no staff reinforcement linked to these events“, confides Michaël Métairie, departmental secretary of the SGP Police. 47 CRS will nevertheless be deployed punctually from this Wednesday, October 27 in the evening, in order to secure the district.
