New twist in the investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred on the set of the film “Rust”. While charges had been dropped against actor Alec Baldwin, he was charged again on Friday January 19 for manslaughter.
Alec Baldwin was again charged with manslaughter on Saturday January 20. The charges were dropped in April after special prosecutors dismissed the homicide charge, saying the weapon may have been modified before the fatal incident. They reversed their decision Friday, after receiving a new report of the weapon used. Experts carefully analyzed the weapon and the marks it left on a spent cartridge.
Actor denies pulling the trigger
The trigger had to be pressed for the shot to fire. The actor has repeatedly denied pulling the trigger. Among the plaintiffs are members of the film crew. Alec Badlwin pointed a gun that was supposed to contain only blank bullets. But a projectile killed the director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injured the director, Joel Souza.
