On June 14, 24 activists took action to try to prevent the Wonder of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise liner, from entering the port of Marseille. Brut followed them.

Accompanied by the Stop Cruises and Extinction Rebellion collectives, around twenty activists blocked the Wonder of the Seas, the largest liner in the world, on June 14.

“The liner behind me is the Wonder of the Seas, it’s the biggest cruise liner in the world. For us, it is the most perfect symbol of the aberration that cruises represent”

The Wonder of the seas is 370 meters long and can carry up to 7,000 passengers. “You can find there an ice rink, a water park, dozens of restaurants, zip lines, climbing walls”explains Mednéo, activist of Extinction Rebellion.

“We invite them to reimagine, to rethink their way of conceiving rest, holidays. We are here to say: this model of rest is destructive. It impacts living things on a large scale, it impacts humans, the planet, the climate.”
