Friday, May 13, on the 12/13 set, doctor and journalist Damien Mascret shares the results of an Indianapolis study which shows that excessive alcohol consumption promotes neurological diseases.

The bad effects of alcohol on the liver are known, but it would also be toxic for the brain. For those over 60 who drink, “The increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease is about 80%. The increased risk of Parkinson’s is about 42% for men and 49% for women”explains Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist, Friday, May 13, which shows that neurological diseases are linked to alcohol consumption.

“Americans consider that from three glasses a day, you have a problem with alcohol. In France, we have moved to lower-risk consumption (…), we consider that you should not exceed more than maximum two glasses per day and maximum ten glasses per week”, continues the doctor. He specifies that these glasses are standard and correspond to half a beer or 10 cl of wine. “The latest estimate shows us that there would be 1.9 million French people who consume more than two glasses a day every day”concludes Damien Mascret.
