The man would have lost control of his motorcycle, around 8 a.m., in the exit leading to boulevard de la Côte-Vertu, in a southerly direction.
“According to initial information, the driver lost control of his motorcycle when he wanted to exit the highway,” said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The driver, a man in his 50s, was transported to the hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Exit 2 of Highway 15 leading to boulevard de la Côte-Vertu southbound was closed for several hours causing a lot of congestion on this very busy highway in the greater Montreal area. By 2:00 p.m., there were no more lane closures and traffic was back to normal.
Earlier, a police officer in collision investigation moved on the spot in order to clarify the causes and the circumstances surrounding this event. The SQ investigation is continuing.
