Kate Spencer’s life was turned upside down in 2020 when she discovered that intimate videos were circulating without her consent on porn platforms.
For years, Kate Spencer had not heard from this boy with whom she had a relationship in her youth. But in May 2020, friends told him that he had posted two intimate videos of them on porn sites. “There are videos of me on the Internet, easily uploaded by a boy I was friends with over ten years ago. My life has been completely turned upside down because of these videos”says the American, who had never given her consent.
At the time, the 30-year-old young woman, who lived in Massachusetts, had a husband, a house, projects, a job. Today, nothing remains of all this. This is why she is speaking publicly today. “I had sex [avec lui] and I gave him oral sex. These are things you do in private. I did not do anything wrong. If people want to post their videos, it’s their choice, as long as they agree. It’s none of my business. But I did not consent to being put online.”she protests.
Videos that total 4 to 5 million views
Kate then knows the Pornhub site… but only by name. “One of my friends had taken screenshots, and she showed them to me. And then I found out that one of the videos had 970,000 views, and the other had 50,000.” This ex-boyfriend posted these two videos of their antics via his personal account on Pornhub in 2010… with free access for everyone! Kate immediately reconnects with the man, whom she lost sight of, and asks him to delete them immediately. He complies, the videos disappear from Pornhub.
But it’s too late. In the space of ten years, these freely accessible intimate scenes have spread all over the internet. The young woman made a list of all the sites on which they appear. In total, she counted 45. And there is another count, even more dizzying: the number of views. In fact, these videos have between 4 and 5 million views. Psychiatrists diagnosed Kate with post-traumatic stress disorder.
