Thérèse Sheeran believes that the hospitals in Cannes and Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes, did not sufficiently take into account the deterioration in the condition of her sister, who died after being bitten by a dog.

A year and a half ago, Frances Sheeran was bitten by a dog. Her condition deteriorating rapidly, her sister found her in the emergency room in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes). “She was in a terrible state, but we left her. I didn’t see what they did, but perhaps they didn’t take proper care.”, says Thérèse. She emphasizes to the nursing staff the urgency of providing antibiotics to her sister. “I had a doctor on the phone (…) and he told me: ‘Your sister, her blood is bad'”.

“She couldn’t speak anymore”

He assures that antibiotics are not necessary, and Frances leaves the emergency room in the middle of the night. His condition is getting worse. “She couldn’t speak, and when I put the thermometer in her mouth, she couldn’t open her mouth.” She was taken to hospital again the next day, this time in Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes). But the urgency of her situation is still not taken into account, according to Thérèse. His sister calls him at one in the morning. This is the last time she will speak to him. Contacted, the Grasse hospital says it respects medical confidentiality, while the Cannes emergency department mentions “media accusations” and affirm that they have at the disposal of justice all the elements they have in their possession.
