The start of the school year began on a discordant note at the Collège de Maisonneuve, in Montreal: a ventilation failure in block C forced the cancellation of all classes for two days, Monday and Tuesday, in this section of the establishment.
Students and staff members were hot on Monday morning in Pavilion C. Classes that had started at 11 a.m. were canceled an hour later due to the heat.
“There was no ventilation in our windowless room,” said a community member at the facility who asked not to be named. Already, at the end of the last session, in June, the mercury rose to an uncomfortable threshold in some premises of the College, indicates another source.
“The students have been informed that there is a break in the ventilation system in block C. Classes are canceled for this afternoon [lundi] and tomorrow [mardi]the time to fix the system, ”confirmed Émilie Laramée, spokesperson for the College.
