Montreal police seem to be swimming in mystery after finding a damaged vehicle, which ended its race with a glide in the Hochelaga sector overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, without any trace of its driver.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was alerted around 1:20 a.m. by calls to 911 about an accident vehicle at the intersection of Souligny Avenue and Dickson Street.
The collision did not cause any injuries, but caused material damage to street furniture, including a Hydro-Quebec pole, while the vehicle landed in the yard of a company.
On the spot, no one seems to have been ejected from the vehicle. For the moment, all the hypotheses are considered, according to the SPVM which seems to be swimming in full mystery.
Collision scene investigators were dispatched to the scene to try to better understand what could have happened and why there was no driver on board or near the scene.
Traffic is likely to be hampered for much of the day in the area, where a security perimeter has been erected to protect the scene, according to the police.
