A unique grocery store in Bordeaux for the benefit of monastic life

Let’s discover this unique shop in Bordeaux, unearthed by Nadia Bergeat: Monastic Craftsmanship managed by an association called ATC “Aide au Travail des Cloitres”. The association was born in 1951, it is non-profit and helps distribute around 3000 products from different religious communities in France and Europe. Monastic Crafts allows cloistered monks and nuns to meet their needs through the sale of products made by craftsmen in the monasteries.

Nadia Bergeat: More than 200 communities in France manufacture a wide variety of products, respecting nature and the rhythms of the seasons.

Salty and sweet groceries, recipes from the past such as jams cooked in a cauldron, cream of Dordogne walnuts, biscuits from Notre Dame du Rivet very close to here in Auros, fruit jellies, pasta fresh, flour, black garlic, chutney, infusions, compotes, honey, all straight from their orchards, their fields, their gardens. This shop is full of good products made with care and respect for nature without additives and most often ORGANIC. The grocery store is located at 6, cours de l’intendance in Bordeaux.

Both Mediterranean and Charentaise, Nadia began her career at the age of 20 as a theater costume designer in Bordeaux. A job she still exercises with as much passion. From shows to shows and from town to town, she discovers the regions; the countries ; specialties and both culinary and geographic riches. These terroirs where the know-how and the local identity of the products are forged, Nadia seeks to share them with everyone and shares them on her blog Follow La Baronne Instagram and Twitter! And the South-West of France, a nourishing and generous land, remains his favorite land. Curious, enthusiastic, she lacks neither the audacity nor the appetite to bring the product closer to the consumer, to support the initiatives of producers concerned with relaunching quality products. Columnist she wants to transmit this pleasure and delight the listeners.
