Iran fired around 180 missiles into Israeli territory on Tuesday to avenge the deaths of its allies, the leaders of Lebanese Hezbollah and Palestinian Hamas. Israel and its American ally have threatened to retaliate.

After the Iranian attack on Israeli territorythe Jewish state announced that Iran had fired around 180 missiles towards the country. Iran said the attack was in response to the assassinations of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. “The situation is very complex. We have continued bombings in Beirut, in the south of Lebanon, ground operations and then last night, a targeted action effectively a priori with an Israeli drone which directly hits members of Hezbollah”recalls General Patrick Dutartre.

“To this context, we can add the tragic anniversary of October 7 and then of course the possible response of the Israelis after the Iranian attack. Nearly 200 missiles. This is unique in history on the Israeli territory of the comes from Iran so it’s an extremely charged context”confides the former air force general.
