A “true childhood thief” will have to serve a six-year prison sentence

A “true childhood thief, 58-year-old repeat pedophile and incestuous offender, will have to serve a six-year penitentiary sentence for sexually assaulting his 12-year-old little sister more than three decades ago.

“A clear message must be sent to clearly express the repugnant and odious nature of the crime of incest. The sexual abuse of young children is a scourge. The courts must make it known that this type of crime repugnant our society,” said Judge Serge Cimon on Monday, during the sentencing of the fifty-year-old at the Laval courthouse.

A court order prevents us from naming him in order to protect the identity of his victim.

Last May, the Brossard resident was found guilty of incest, incitement and sexual contact, over three months, against his little sister, barely 12 years old.

The shocking events occurred in the summer of 1989, when the young man, 24 at the time, had returned to live at the family home in Laval.

Sexual object

During this period, the man who should have looked after his little sister instead abused her by encouraging her to have sex with him repeatedly, without worrying about her refusals.

“During three months, [elle] serves as his brother’s sexual object,” Judge Cimon said.

“The delinquent will have carried out, in a selfish and antisocial manner, the sabotage of a young child of 12 years old, and this, in the excess of his sexual impulses and against all taboos,” he said. He insists.

Then, when the teenager tried to confide in her mother, the latter dissuaded her, like her brother, from filing a police report to preserve the family’s honor.

“There, you will not file a complaint against your brother. You won’t break up the family,” his mother told him, suggesting they “sort out their affairs” together.

Then, in 2016, his attacker was convicted of sex crimes against a 14-year-old girl, in 2007 and 2008. It was his partner’s daughter.

After serving his five-year sentence, the man had the nerve to send a voice message to his sister, telling her he had changed.

He tried again to convince her not to denounce him, because he did not want to return to prison, he allegedly told her.

It was from that moment that she found the courage to denounce him.

“For the court, the offender is truly a childhood thief,” said the magistrate, maintaining that the repeat offender did not seem to have sincere remorse.

A smile before leaving

Moreover, a few moments after nervously having the handcuffs put back on his wrists, the pedophile did not hesitate to give a smirk to his victim, visibly emotional and shaken, as he left the courtroom.

The defense had suggested to the court to hand down a sentence of less than two years of detention for the man who was a coach and referee in badminton, tennis and squash.

In a sexology report filed during the trial, it was stated that he self-declared that he still struggled with an attraction to young teenage girls.

The fifty-year-old has already appealed the judgment.
