According to Keraunos, the French observatory for tornadoes and violent storms, the tornado which caused some material damage on Sunday September 17 in the north-west of Mayenne formed between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The phenomenon occurred between Ernée and Saint-Pierre-des-Landes, north of Laval, “on the southern edge of a small but temporarily very active storm cell”.
No injuries or homes affected
In the impressive images filmed by Météo Mayenne, we can see a horn descending from a large cloud, behind homes.
The tornado only lasted a few minutes. No homes were affected and no injuries were reported. Only the roofs of several agricultural buildings were blown away by the intensity of the winds.
