Armand-Corbeil high school in Terrebonne, which was the subject of a police intervention earlier Friday, is now secure. “There is no longer any threat to students or staff,” confirmed the Intermunicipal Police Service of Terrebonne / Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines / Bois-des-Filion.
The police arrested an individual, they said in a press release. He will be met by the criminal investigation office. The police had indicated earlier that they were looking for “a potentially dangerous individual who could be inside the school”. A “code black” containment measure had been triggered in the establishment as a preventative measure in order to optimize the agents’ searches.
No shots were fired during the operation, assures the Intermunicipal Police Service. “Even though the intervention went well, social workers are on site to meet the students. Thus, their exit will be gradual and could therefore take longer than usual,” he writes.
