In Bourbonnais, residents have to travel on average between 50 and 100 kilometers to consult a cardiologist. A device called “Cardio+” is being tested there. Specialized nurses carry out procedures at home, and the data is analyzed by a cardiologist via telemedicine.

That morning in Broût-Vernet (Allier), an 86-year-old patient was entitled to a cardiac assessment. To carry out procedures such as placing electrodes or even a cardiac ultrasound, nurses had to specialize. This medical data is digitized and later analyzed by a cardiologist via telemedicine.

The project is expected to extend to the entire country

The device, entitled “Cardio+”, reassures the patient’s wife. She explains that if it had been necessary to have him hospitalized in Vichy (Allier), “They wouldn’t have taken care of him right away because it’s not a really serious case”. “There, having the care of nurses at home is perfect”, she says. On average, residents of Bourbonnais have to travel between 50 and 100 kilometers to consult a cardiologist. In its experimental state, the “Cardio+” project should extend to the entire country in less than three years.
