The scene took place after leaving school, around 4:40 p.m. on Monday, in the district of Rue d’Alsace, in Fameck (Moselle). Seven or eight shots were fired, as evidenced by the cartridges found on the ground by investigators from the gendarmerie.
While the students have left Jacques Prévert school for about half an hour, the teachers hear a noise, upstairs above the one on which they are. On the way up, they then see bullet impact on a window of the establishment.
Upon their arrival at the scene, the gendarmes discover impacts, on vehicles and casings on the ground, on the rue d’Alsace side, about a hundred meters from the school. Everything suggests that the shot that targeted the school was a stray bullet.
According to the first elements, the cartridges found could come from a 9 mm. Investigators must now use the images from CCTV cameras installed in this priority security area.
Gendarmerie reinforcements are expected for the next few days on site, in this neighborhood already impacted by gunfire a few months ago.
