Two women filed a complaint for sexual assault in Guéret. Their testimonies agree and describe facts that took place less than an hour apart, near the bus station. The police made the connection between these two cases and arrested a 21-year-old homeless man on Thursday February 3.

He is suspected of first assaulting a woman over the age of 70, Wednesday February 2, around 7:45 p.m. She was walking near the Guéret bus station when a man approached her to touch her buttocks. According to her, he tackles her to the ground, lays her face down under a tree and lowers their pants. He caresses her sex and tries to penetrate her, without succeeding.

Two attacks in the same evening

When they get up, she gets dressed and he follows her before fleeing in view of passers-by. This septuagenarian filed the complaint the next day at 8:45 a.m. at the Guéret police station. It was then that the police made the link with another complaint filed the night before.

After these two complaints, the police proceed on Thursday, February 3 to the arrest of a 21-year-old homeless young person according to the public prosecutor of Guéret. Referred to the prosecution on Friday in the wake, he is placed in pre-trial detention and will remain incarcerated until his trial on March 28, 2022. He is not known to the court. He faces seven years in prison.
