Barely 24 hours in his new costume and already, Gabriel Attal wants to show off his muscles. The Prime Minister, who had never before held a sovereign position, spent an hour this Wednesday, January 10, in the Ermont police station, in Val-d’Oise, alongside Gérald Darmanin. The new head of government is honing his skills on security issues. “I cannot imagine a society without order and rules”he insisted at the end of his visit.
His chief of staff comes from the right
For oppositions on the right side of the political spectrum, the Prime Minister’s first words were scrutinized. “This shows that what we have been saying for years is going in the right direction and that we were right, we cannot complain about the fact that our proposals are taken up”, said Pierre-Henri Dumont, LR deputy for Pas-de-Calais. Gabriel Attal also appointed a right-wing man to head his cabinet: Emmanuel Moulin, formerly in the service of Nicolas Sarkozy or Bruno Le Maire. The composition of the new government could also say a little more about the course taken by the Prime Minister.
