The lifeless body of a 23-year-old young man was found at the foot of the ramparts of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, this Thursday, September 1. The victim was from Nantes and worked as a seasonal in a restaurant on the islandsaid the mayor of the town Patrice Déchelette to France Bleu La Rochelle.
The young man went out with his friends on Wednesday evening. The group would have separated after three o’clock in the morning. He would then have fell more than ten meters at the Quai des Torpilleursat low tide.
It was vacationers who made the discovery the next day. His body was transferred to the forensic institute of Poitiers and an investigation was opened.
