a resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency calls Tehran to order

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution on Iran on Wednesday June 5, formally reminding Tehran of its cooperation obligations with the agency. The governments of France, Germany and the United Kingdom “greet” this resolution, according to a press release from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

“This is a response to Iran’s continued refusal to cooperate in good faith with the IAEA to clarify outstanding issues related to the detection of undeclared nuclear materials at several sites in Iran,” continues this press release. “Iran is legally required to cooperate with the IAEA and account for all nuclear materials and activities.”

This resolution, the first since November 2022, broadens the grievances accused of Tehran.
