a regional monkeypox control plan

ARS IDF (Ile-de-France Regional Health Agency) has put in place a regional monkeypox control plan. It is based on four essential points.

Since May 31, the date of the first information meeting for community associations, the ARS has decided to make all the information easily accessible through channels of exchange with community associations.

Screening quickly implemented

After the first case officially declared in France on May 19, epidemiological and vaccination monitoring tools have been adapted to each phase of the epidemic.

Contact tracing was carried out on all confirmed cases from the first weeks. Treatment and screening have been extended to all hospital laboratories in the Paris region specializing in infectious and tropical diseases.

A reactive vaccination

A vaccination campaign was quickly set up. It makes it possible to reach the maximum level of coverage of the target population (mainly homosexuals and transgender people with multiple partners, prostitutes, and users of places of sexual consumption.

Since early July, 31 vaccination centers opened. Paris has 19 sites, Seine et Marne, Essonne, Seine Saint Denis, Val de Marne and Val d’Oise have two sites per department. Yvelines and Hauts de Seine have one site.
