General policy speech by Michel Barnier: “A reassuring test”, judge Violette Spillebout, Renaissance MP

From purchasing power to immigration, the Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, detailed his priorities on Tuesday, October 1, in the National Assembly. His general policy speech was well received by the Macronist camp.

Michel Barnier passed his grand oral on Tuesday 1er october. The Prime Minister gave his general policy speech to the National Assembly, almost a month after his appointment. “It was a reassuring test. There was little risk since Michel Barnier did not go into detail about the measures which could upset our own political group. There were fundamentals which were recalled such as the fight against violence against women and access to culture Subjects which are rarely mentioned in a general policy declaration. A few points were lacking.“, confides Violette Spillebout, Renaissance MP for the North.

“Since his government scares everyone, Michel Barnier tried to please everyone with a lot of money and not much concrete. I don’t know if that’s reassuring. Promising efforts in public spending , this means further cuts to education and health (…) It is rather the revealer of the powerlessness of a Prime Minister who is in the hands of the National Rally”launches Johanna Rolland, PS mayor of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
