“As there is a Queen of England, nothing is useless in the universe”. A beautiful formula by Alain Souchon, sung by Laurent Voulzy in 1987 – Elizabeth II had been queen for exactly 35 years.
We are 35 years later and its Platinum Jubilee – amply commented on the antennas of France Info these last days – invites us to reflect on what use this monarch is for us, we who are French. Already, this queen allows us a comparison with another sovereign, the “King of Cons” that Georges Brassens sings.
