Strike of SNCF controllers: a movement starting from social networks

Strike of SNCF controllers: a movement starting from social networks – (France 2)

A group which brings together nearly 4,000 members on social networks is behind the SNCF controllers’ strike. He can count on the support of the unions, which defend the same cause.

For the second time, as in 2022, a movement outside the unions is at the origin of the strike notice for SNCF controllers for the weekend of February 17 and 18. He represents the ASCT, the train commercial service agents, or the controllers. A leader recognizes himself in this movement from the base. On its Facebook page, the collective has more than 3,800 members and is not concerned about unions. Among them, a crew chief with Eurostar for 22 years, who considers himself insufficiently represented by the unions.

The collective is not authorized to file notices

For the collective, certain measures promised during the resolution of the conflict in 2022 are slow to materialize, in particular the taking into account of bonuses in the calculation of retirement and the recognition of arduousness at the end of a career. The collective is not authorized to file strike notices and needs the unions, which support the movement. “Their demands join our demands”assures Julien Troccaz, federal secretary of SUD-Rail.
