A 24-year-old migrant, of Eritrean nationality, was found dead on Tuesday September 26, in the morning, on a beach in the town of Sangatte (Pas-de-Calais), France Bleu Nord learned from the Boulogne-sur prosecutor’s office. -Sea.

It was a migrant who discovered the lifeless body of this woman on the coast in Blériot, in the town of Sangatte, near Calais. According to the deputy prosecutor, she is “probably died by drowning while launching or attempting to launch a boat.”

90 migrants on board two boats

An investigation was opened to “search for the causes of death” while waiting to know the results of the examinations, it was entrusted to the Border Police (PAF) and the Calais police station. A request for assistance from the British authorities was made to find out if during the night from Monday to Tuesday, a boat in which the young migrant could have been arrived in England.

According to the authorities, there was no shipwreck last night, but two crossings were reported, one at 1:45 a.m. with 50 migrants on board the boat, and the other at 2:39 a.m. with 40 migrants on board.

The authorities also noted three attempts to launch the boat during the night from Monday to Tuesday. One of these attempts, on the beach in the hamlet of Hemmes-les-Marck (Pas-de-Calais), resulted in the arrest of a migrant and a German national for transporting nautical equipment. They were arrested when migrants were coming to collect the equipment to cross.
