A very sad affair is found this Wednesday before the Assises de l’Hérault. A 64-year-old man is on trial until Friday for having killed his wife and her lover in October 2018, in his apartment in Agde located only a hundred meters from the police station. The victims, aged 55 and 58, were found lifeless in this luxurious apartment on rue de Sète. Both wore multiple wounds on the body, made with a knife and hammer. Seventeen blows for his wife of Laotian origin, twenty-eight blows for her lover, who is none other than her first husband.
The couple married in 2018 after meeting on Meetic three years earlier
The perpetrator, a former mountain guide, was found that evening in serious condition, also injured by a stabbing weapon. The latter, who had a high blood alcohol level (more than 2.50 grams g / l of blood) had been placed in an artificial coma and helicoptered to Montpellier in critical condition. The vital prognosis was engaged. But the latter survived.
A fight broke out in the evening between the survivor and his two deceased victims. The latter does not deny the facts but assures that he only defended himself after being hit on the head by his wife’s lover, twice, with an object he no longer remembers. Two hammer blows, that is what the judicial investigation will confirm.
They had stolen from me a traditional Japanese knife that I intended to give to my son. When I wanted to get it back, my wife’s lover threw himself on me. He wanted to cut me into pieces with it. I replied when he hit me twice on the head. “
At the time, the emergency services evoked a scene of carnage in this devastated apartment, with very many traces of blood on the ground and on the walls. The accused could not stand what his wife was making him endure since several weeks. The couple had bought this apartment in early 2018. But very quickly, the latter’s wife would have had an affair with his first love. She had then imposed in this apartment this lover with whom she had had a daughter in 1998.
A difficult cohabitation with threats and pressures to encourage him to leave the home
The lover and his wife had taken over the whole apartment. The husband had to live in isolation in one of the bedrooms‘‘said neighbors at France Bleu Hérault at the time. The husband had confided in his ordeal, the repeated thefts of his personal belongings, until the cable cut from the television antenna installed in his room. To the investigators, he even later confessed that his wife’s lover cut off the power or the air conditioning, even going so far as to empty the apartment of its furniture.
In an SMS sent to his son Julien, the husband writes: “They emptied the apartment of all the pots, the dishes, the cupboards, the fridge. Everything has been emptied. I live in one of the bedrooms, with an electric hob and a pot “.
“They’re fucking in the next room making enough noise for me to hear them, not to mention the verbal provocations. I can’t take it anymore.”
The accused had started steps to move in order to put an end to this cohabitation and his daily sufferings which had lasted for weeks. A few hours before the tragedy, the latter had met his banker in order to obtain a loan for a future real estate rental.
The deceased wife, married four times, wanted to ruin her life
Hélène, his wife, had confided in those around her about this desire to part with this marriage, which was probably too fast. Steps had been taken in this direction. The victim was afraid of her husband. Handrails had also been removed.
On the evening of this assault, October 3, 2018, the accused had expressed his intentions to end his life in an email sent to our colleagues at Hérault Tribune. The latter also implicated the police and his friends who had not supported him in the days preceding this tragedy.
Relatives had advised the husband to leave the premises
The suspect has been in pre-trial detention since this tragedy. Sarah and Anaïs, the two children of the victim, filed a civil suit. This passage to the act is surprising especially as the latter, who is also a collateral victim, had taken steps to leave the premises. If he hadn’t fought back, would he even be alive today?
