A man suspected of being involved in the death of Iris C., in Lanester (Morbihan), was placed in police custody on Thursday June 8, a source close to the investigation told franceinfo, confirming information from the Telegram.

Judicial information was opened Friday, June 2, against X for “kidnapping” and “murder, preceded or accompanied by rape”, six days after the discovery of the naked body of a young 24-year-old woman in the water of the Blavet, in Lanester (Morbihan).

The victim, Iris C., from the Lorient region, was discovered by walkers on Saturday May 27 in the waters of Blavet. The Lorient public prosecutor’s office had confirmed “criminal cause of death”, after an examination. The prosecution explained in particular that “the victim presented traumatic lesions and hematomas on the head and face, prehension lesions on the arms, traces of strangulation with a mechanism of major asphyxia”. He also specified that the autopsy had also highlighted “the recent nature of sexual intercourse, without it being possible to affirm the existence of violence in this respect”.
