A man, arrested by the Raid on Wednesday October 9 for a case linked to organized crime, escaped from police custody during the night from Thursday to Friday in Montélimar (Drôme), the prosecutor told France Bleu Drôme Ardèche on Friday October 11 of the Republic of Valencia, Laurent de Caigny, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré.

The man was in police custody at the Montélimar police station. He was arrested Wednesday morning by the Raid in Valréas, with two other people. The three men are suspected of having kidnapped and tortured a man in his twenties in Montélimar.

This very violent attack is akin to a settling of scores. “It’s a sensitive matter that is ongoing”declares Laurent de Caigny, specifying that the escaped man is actively sought. The two other suspects were presented Friday to the investigating judge in charge of the case with a view to indictment and placement in pre-trial detention.
