The man who is suspected of having killed his partner at the end of September in a seniors’ residence (RPA) in Terrebonne was charged Thursday with first degree murder.
Gilles Brassard, 81, was found unconscious in the bedroom of his wife, Thérèse Brassard-Lévesque, at the Étincelle residence. The 79-year-old woman was found dead there on September 30.
Her partner was first hospitalized at Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital, which prevented the officers from the Terrebonne Intermunicipal Police Service from quickly questioning him. He did not live in RPA.
His state of health improved and Thursday morning, he had to appear at the Laval courthouse to be formally charged with first degree murder, the most serious charge in the Criminal Code.
