A logger seriously injured on the Boussay road while cutting a tree

The accident took place this morning in a forest on the edge of the road to Boussay, a few kilometers from Preuilly-sur-Claise, in the south of Indre-et-Loire. A 23-year-old lumberjack was seriously injured while cutting down a tree, which fell on his legs. Eight firefighters from Indre-et-Loire, gendarmes and an elected official went to the scene.

According to firefighters, this tree fall does not seem to be linked to storm Diego which hit Indre-et-Loire on Friday. It is not known at this time if it is a work or personal accident. The victim was airlifted by SAMU 86 to the Poitiers Hospital Center.
