Judicial information for “unintentional injuries against X” was opened on Tuesday September 12 by the Versailles public prosecutor’s office, in the case of young Sefa, franceinfo learned from the public prosecutor’s office. Now, since Friday September 8, the teenager, brain dead after a collision with a police vehicle on Wednesday September 6 in Élancourt (Yvelines), is with his family. She did not communicate information on the victim’s current state of health, specifies the prosecution. It will now be up to the investigating judge to communicate on this point and to confirm or not the possible death of Sefa. On Sunday September 10, the Versailles prosecutor’s office announced that the transfer of the 16-year-old teenager to Turkey was for the same evening.

Two versions oppose each other

The motorcycle driven by young Sefa hit a police car on Wednesday September 6 around 6:40 p.m. His two-wheeler was followed at a distance by another police vehicle. A video used by the IGPN shows, according to a police source, that the police car hit was slowly arriving at the intersection where the collision took place, franceinfo learned on Friday September 8. This same source specified that according to the video, the teenager was then without a helmet and that he was looking behind him without slowing down. An analysis denied by the lawyer for Sefa’s family. Me Yassine Bouzrou specifies to franceinfo that “the speed of the vehicle has never been assessed” and the car was “according to several witnesses speeding”. The custody of the two police officers involved in the collision was lifted on Thursday September 7 without prosecution at this stage.

The lawyer for the young boy’s family, Me Yassine Bouzrou, announced Thursday September 7 that he had filed a complaint for attempted intentional homicide and requested the removal of the case, accusing the Versailles prosecutor’s office of “lies” and being unable to “treat this matter objectively”.
