Trèbes attack: a terrifying 16-minute recording broadcast during the trial – (France 2)
The audio recording of the negotiations with the terrorist Radouane Lakdim, until the attack by the intervention forces, was broadcast on Wednesday January 24 during the trial of the Trèbes attack (Aude). 16 terrible minutes which end with the death of Arnaud Beltrame.
The face-to-face encounter is chilling. On one side, Lieutenant-Colonel Arnaud Beltrame and on the other, Radouane Lakdim, the terrorist from the Super U of Trèbes (Aude). Sixteen minutes of fear, recorded by GIGN, were broadcast on Wednesday January 24 at the Paris special assize court, during the trial of the Trèbes attack. We can hear the negotiations between the intervention forces and the terrorist, as well as Arnaud Beltrame.
The last words of Arnaud Beltrame
The negotiator tested the motivations of Radouane Lakdim, who claimed that he was “there to die”. After three minutes of discussion, confused noises, then a few muffled words are heard: “Attack… Assault! Assault!”. These will be the last words spoken by Arnaud Beltrame, while trying to disarm the terrorist, before he is stabbed in the neck. The recording, silent, is only interspersed with groans during the last ten minutes.
