A Gabare ride in Creysse

Head to the Périgord Pourpre to discover an out-of-the-ordinary barge ride. Here, no castles, no perched villages, but nature, the wild and natural environment of the Dordogne, commented by quality gabarriers, who will also make you discover the wines of Bergerac Duras during a tasting. Nathalie Jouat du Guide du Périgord has tested and invites you to discover this nugget of the summer.

The Barges of Creysse

On the way for a river trip on the Dordogne. The Gabarres de Creysse belong to the same family that manages the Gabarres de Bergerac. Very friendly, dynamic, young and professional people who will be happy to tell you the history, the environment and the anecdotes to know about the Dordogne in this place. The departure from Creysse is only during the summer, Every Tuesday and Thursday in the summer, departure at 10.30 am from the port of Creysse. You will be amazed for 1h30/2h. There is the captain of the barge, but also a team to tell you about the Dordogne and everything you will see during the walk. Cluzeaux, the discovery of fauna and flora and you may come across fishermen and beautiful private buildings along the Dordogne, old mills at the foot of resurgences of water which come to flow into the Dordogne. At the very end is the dam with the EDF plant and the fish ladder (which can be visited, very interesting with the family!)

How good you are on the water, with friendly people, in a good atmosphere to taste Bergerac Duras wines! Then find these wines at Quai Cyrano, in the museum and store above the Tourist Office, then discover wine tourism in the Bergerac area.

Discover by bike or on foot the Bergerac greenway route, the V91

We continue the day, with a superb walk to do by bike, with the family. We park the car near Creysse, at the parking lot of the Tuilières dam and on the way for a walk along the small villages, to Bergerac.

The advice of the Guide du Périgord: Take an empty backpack for shopping in Bergerac and a lock if you want to stop for an ice cream, at the restaurant or for a walk in the town of Cyrano.
