Belgian law enforcement foiled a planned jihadist attack targeting a concert hall in Brussels. She was to be targeted “in a few weeks”.

A planned jihadist attack, foiled this weekend by the police, targeted one of Brussels’ emblematic concert halls. Four men, three minors and one adult, were arrested on Sunday March 3 during a series of searches. The four suspects were in the crosshairs of the federal police in the context of two separate legal cases. The suspects, who belong to the jihadist movement, exchanged messages judged “sufficiently worrying for us to intervene”explained a spokesperson for the federal prosecutor’s office.

The four suspects charged

The three minor suspects were presented on Monday March 4 to an investigating judge who charged them. The major suspect was indicted by a judge in Brussels. The Belgian authorities remain on alert after the suicide attacks of March 2016 in Brussels (35 dead), perpetrated by the jihadist cell already behind the attacks of November 13, 2015 in France.
