Friday June 21, throughout France, melodies resonated in the streets. Amateurs and professionals alike were there, and the party lasted until very late at night. Report from Strasbourg.
On a piece of sidewalk in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), young architects proposed one of their compositions. For these amateurs, the music festival is an opportunity to discover their world. “I’m really transported”, rejoices an amateur. An engineer and his son let themselves be carried away by a pop-rock chorus. On the evening of Friday June 21, every street was transformed into an ephemeral scene.
Some enjoyed the evening from a balcony, others went out dancing. Inspired by Brazilian women, a couple offered their best hip swing. In another street, a family had fun to the rhythm of electro music. This is the first time the girls have stayed up this late. “We’re having a really good time”, confides one of them. For 42 years in France, we have celebrated the longest day of the year even when night has fallen.
