Armenian separatists were forced to lay down their arms after the Azerbaijani army’s lightning offensive.

A first convoy of the International Red Cross entered the Nagorno-Karabakh region on Saturday September 23, after the lightning offensive by Azerbaijani forces against this secessionist region mainly populated by Armenians, noted an AFP journalist on place. “The ICRC went through the Lachin corridor to bring mainly 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the population”declared an official from the International Red Cross, met by AFP at the Armenian checkpoint of Kornidzor.
Saturday, the separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh negotiated a return to peace with Azerbaijan. After their capitulation and the ceasefire concluded on Wednesday at the end of the lightning offensive of the Azerbaijani army, they had to discuss the withdrawal of their troops, while continuing to lay down their weapons. It was also to determine how “ensure the return to their homes of citizens displaced by military aggression”, according to the separatists. Azerbaijan, for its part, announced that it would proceed with a “demilitarization” separatist forces.
