France paid, on Wednesday April 27, a last tribute to Michel Bouquet, monument of theater and cinema who died two weeks ago, at the age of 96. A particularly moving ceremony in which took part Emmanuel Macron, but also the actors Muriel Robin, Fabrice Luchini and Pierre Arditi.

In the courtyard of the Hôtel des Invalides, the friends of Michel Bouquet came to pay him a final tribute, in the afternoon of Wednesday April 27. Muriel Robin was his student at the Conservatoire. “Mr Bunch. Monsieur Bouquet, because I’ve always called you that. Without a first name, you remained the master“, began the artist, before sharing a moving memory of youth. Fabrice Luchini meanwhile praised the meaning of the formula of the deceased actor.

La Marseillaise then sounded for a solemn tribute to one of the greatest French comedians. “When the curtain rose, the stage lit up, the actors appeared, Michel Bouquet was finally happy.“, declared Emmanuel Macron. If the comedian’s relatives were present, anonymous people had also made the trip to say goodbye to him, including a neighbor, touched so much by his “talent“only by his”discretion“.
