It is called “La Braillarde”, a contraction of Brive-la-Gaillarde. And it could well become essential in the ranks of the supporters. It is the work of Raphael. This CAB supporter grew up in the Toulouse region, yet the son of Brivists. “When I was little, I was rather a supporter of Stade Toulousain, but nevertheless, going back to my roots made me follow the club again “ he explains simply.
But, the story was born later. Raphaël explains: “I’ve always found it important to have a fan song, to feel useful, to allow the players to feel pushed. For me, that was something the club lacked. There is good. the Three Gourmet Cafés, but this song was not originally composed for that team. Everyone knows the Peña Baiona and we know how much it can push the Bayonnais. I’m sure a song can be decisive and important in the field. “
Brivist supporters in the choir
It all started during a match against Bayonne in Pau, the accession final of Pro D2. Raphael was there. “With an anthem that we could have sung at the top of our lungs, I’m not saying that the outcome would have been different but it can help our players on the pitch” thinks he knows how to bear it. So he gets to work in 2020. He writes the lyrics and composes the music with a friend. This year, he focused on recording: a choir of 8 people, accompanied by 4 or 5 instrumentalists. Among them, not many CAB fans, he says: “I am surrounded by fans of rugby but also of the Stade Toulousain. I still managed to find supporters of the club, two or three, who came to sing in the choir”.
The music became a clip, broadcast on the Youtube platform and shot in two parts : a first part at Raphaël’s in the Toulouse region and another in Brive, at the Stadium but also at the Le Watson pub, well known for broadcasting rugby and CAB matches. “When I proposed to them, there was not a lot of resistance” Raphael smiles. With them, the friendly 100% Coujoux.
Will one day resonate at the Stadium?
The first line of the song is “a star on the jersey”. This song is in line with the celebration of the club, European champion in 1997. “This year, remembers Raphael, all the European teams were there, but Brive won it. ”

To write his words, he had around him the jersey of the centenary. “_I was seeing this long list of CAB players. It gave me the idea to write this part of the verse.” Nevertheless, Raphaël wants to make it clear: this song “absolutely not an order” of the club. “Me, I am a lambda supporter, a simple soldier I used to say.
