In a press release from Productions Midor, the event is described as the “very first drag convention in Canada”. Inspired by RuPaul’s DragCon, this convention will bring together dozens of drag performers under one roof. Visitors will be able to chat with them and “capture these moments with souvenir photos”, it is specified.
The exact location where the event will be held has not yet been revealed, as have details surrounding the purchase of tickets.
The president of Productions Midor, Michel Dorion, noted that he wanted to “create a space offering the possibility to the public and to the artists” to exchange. “Beyond what we know about current DragCon, I want to place the public experience at the heart of the event. Yes, there will be promo material and moments Meet & Greet with stars, but the emphasis will be on conviviality and encounters. The goal is to give everyone the chance to learn more about this diverse universe,” added Michel Dorion.
