A “detailed plan” by two students to carry out an armed attack in a school was possibly foiled by the SPVM

SPVM police and investigators landed Tuesday afternoon at a secondary school in the Villeray district of Montreal, where two students are said to have hatched a “detailed plan” for an armed attack on the school.

According to our sources, the two young people targeted by this investigation have concocted a detailed plan to carry out a “school shooting“.

The Montreal police confirm that they were informed around 10 a.m. of “possible threatening remarks reported to the police” concerning a secondary school in the Villeray district.

According to our information, the intervention took place at Georges-Vanier high school, located on rue Jarry Est. The institution enrolls more than 1,000 students, according to its website.

“The police and investigators went to the scene to meet the people involved,” said agent Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the Montreal police.

In the aftermath of the case, the authorities were unable to say whether these allegations of armed attack were serious or not.

“The investigation is continuing,” said the SPVM spokesperson.

The two students involved in this story are teenagers.

No arrests have yet been made in the case, but it is not excluded that the young people will find themselves in court shortly.
