The success of the second-hand market, greener and more economical, is pushing more and more French people to set up their small businesses. This is the case of a couple based in the Oise who started in itinerant trade.

Second-hand clothes, found on the Internet, in recycling centers or associations… In Beauvais (Oise), a couple of entrepreneurs have launched into the second-hand trade and only offer French brands. “You have to realize that today, the textile industry is one of the most polluting so there is this first challenge and also to democratize French know-how”explains Melany Janet, the manager.

A thrift store that moves

Melany Janet and her husband have decided not to settle down anywhere. “The ephemeral side allows us to travel and address several types of people. The problem when you are in a physical store is that you are anchored somewhere”, testifies Nowak Elkan. Prices range from 3 euros to a hundred euros for the top of the range. Worldwide, more than 100 billion pieces of clothing are sold every year.
